What you get back for every script
The pupil's own page, marked the way a careful teacher marks it. This one is an invented letter, so you can see every kind of mark at once.
1First, what it read
What was read off the page
Dear Kojo, I am writting to tell you about our speech day. It was held last friday and every students came with their parents. Our headmaster give a long speech and the [?] band played for us.
2Then the marks, on the pupil's own page
- SSpelling
- CapCapital letter
- CConcord
- TTense
- ?I cannot read it — not guessed, and not counted as a mistake
3Four marks, each with its reason
Marks
- A mark for Content, Organisation, Expression and Mechanical Accuracy, and the reason for each.
- Thin red lines under the writing, never over it.
- A word the photo lost is boxed and left out of the count. It is never guessed.
- Every code comes with its meaning in plain English.
- Change any mark you disagree with. Your mark and EssayMarker's both stay on the record.
EssayMarker can misread handwriting or get a mark wrong. That is why it shows you what it read first, and why every mark stays yours to change.
How it works
Photograph the question paper
EssayMarker picks out the essay questions and shows them to you to confirm.
Photograph every script
The camera takes the picture by itself when the page is sharp, or you can upload photos or a PDF.
No signal, nothing lost
If the connection drops, the pages wait on your phone and go up when it is back.
One button marks the whole class
Press it once. The marking runs in the background and shows how far it has got for every pupil.
A marksheet for the whole class
Ranked by total, with the class average, the spread and the mistake the class makes most. Print it, and print each marked script, ready to hand back.
